Holly Valance: Somebody Out There (Video)

In 2003 Holly Valance released an amazing album of strong electro-pop tunes called “State Of Mind”, but nobody noticed & she was dropped from her label as a result. Alas few people got a chance to know how good the second album was (or were put off from buying it after purchasing her much more successful but vastly inferior first album), with the second album just released, Holly’s Record Label (London Records) dropped her rather than go ahead with planned second single release “Curious”. We all know commercial pop albums are created to contain at least 4 potential single cuts, on this premise I created this video as I believe it would have later become one of those four single choices (& because it is one of my favourite tracks on the album). It was so sad when Holly was dropped (with such a strong & well structured pop album ready to go), rendering all the potential classic pop songs contained on it dead in the water. This track is but a preview for the other “gems” contained on the “State Of Mind” album, that never got to become single releases or even get the chance to become pop classics. A great pop track lives & breathes again!

wow! This is a great video, couldnt stop watching it lol thumbs up 2 u xx
It like this very much!!
i think it was ahead of its time…if she rerelaeased this now it would be the perfect time.
I <3 you Holly Valance!!!!!!
Oh well, with any luck it was not a bitter breakup & she can happily walk away from the relationship with the masterdiscs of her new recordings under her arm & the promise that they will appear on her (hoped for) 3rd album. . .
Methinks they have broken up!
There is a rumour she & that guy “frankmusic” are madly in love, his song “confusion girl” is about her & it was very convenient for her to star in his video because it was filmed during a break in sessions for her rumoured 3rd album, which he is apparently producing (at least some of).
I have tried to link this song up to his but the uploader does not approve!
LOVE HOLLY’S MUSIC.
She should come back
!!

I agree completely on your description! Thank you for posting this! I usualy don’t like this type of music, pop. I usually listen to metal and classic rock, but there was something in the State of Mind album that struck me. I only heard a few songs from Footprints and it was nowhere near as good as this album. Just goes to prove how clueless the industry is about music. I think that’s why she quit music, because of the business. However, I heard recently that she’s finally making a new album.
love the description! I’ve treasured my copy of this album since I bought it in 2003.
super !!!!
